What is Breast lift?

A breast lift a cosmetic breast surgery done to lift the breasts. It is also known as mastopexy. the arrangement of the areola and nipple of the breasts may be changed in this surgery. Sagging breasts may occur in women after having children or may be found in older women. This procedure is performed for such women.

Why is the Procedure performed?

Cosmetic breast surgery is not done for any medical reasons and it is an elective surgery. Plagiarizing of drooling/ loose breasts is the main motive of Women to usually undergo breast lifts. The major reason for sagging breasts in women is Pregnancy, breastfeeding, and normal aging. A contraindication for this surgery: The women who are pregnant or are nursing a child or are even planning to have more children.

How does the procedure work?

A breast life surgery is done under general or local anesthesia. It can be done in a hospital or at an outpatient surgery clinic.In this surgery in the breast around the dark pink skin surrounding the nipple one to three surgical cuts are done and extra skin is removed from the lower section of the breast, and the nipple, areola thereafter. Than the underlying breast tissue are moved up to a higher location, lifting the breast. Than with stitches the incisions are closed.

Before this surgery Mammogram i.e. breast X-rays and a routine breast exam are mandatory.
